What are you most proud of in the entire wiki?I think what I was most proud of got deleted. It was a video (well a link to a video because I’m apparently to out of the loop to know how to embed one in the wiki that did a really great job with the wiki. I also was upset to see some of my explanations go, but I understand that it was for the best. I am proud of what I posted on Manovich as well, and I like how we all came together to make this project happen.
What are you most proud of in terms of your contributions to the wiki? The Manovich page. I’m really proud of all the work I did on that page. It looks like most of the other content I contributed was erased, and it’s kind of difficult to be proud of something that is no longer there, but that is not to say the Wiki does not look great.
What do you wish you had time to further expand, include, or revise in the wiki? Videos. I wish I had known or maybe asked someone how to post a video to the Wiki. I saw some of the other peoples videos and was really impressed with how well they fit in with the topic at hand, and I just wish I could have done that. I find that sometimes people need the visual assistance of a video, as it helps to open them up to a new way of learning.
When did you get stuck while working on the wiki? How did you overcome your problem? Haha. Posting videos. No, I did not and I regret not asking for help.
What did you learn about yourself as a collaborative writer? What collaborative skills do you want to work on in the future?I’d like to talk to my classmate more and try and be less shy. It’s easy to collaborate from behind a computer screen, but I’d like to maybe not have been so quiet during our classroom discussion.
Discuss at least four of the course outcomes you feel you worked towards with this assignment. Provide evidence of your learning by pointing to specific aspects of the wiki or your project journal. 1. I would say I used appropriation by posting pictures from other sources to the Wiki http://www.flickr.com/photos/47655542@N00/5477396653/sizes/n/. 2. Multitasking, I was skimming the article while posting information to the Wiki, and thinking about possible examples and pictures I could post as well. 3. I feel the Wiki as a whole is our way of using collective intelligence, as we all brought in our own resources and abilities to reach our goal of a finished project. 4. I think working with the Wiki itself was a form of distributive cognition for me as before this class I had never even blogged before, let alone contributed to a Wiki.
