I added a photo and a video to judgement, a photo that displays the presidential candidates in their campaign, and the most controversial video in the world at the moment. I also added a little to the judgement section. The video is only a hyperlink right now, because i couldn’t figure out how to embed.
In Flew’s article on Culture I added two photos, one of netflix, and one of second life. I added color to the words.
Flew’s article helps to illustrate that our connection to media has become so integral to our everyday life, that we are beginning to lose connection with reality. Media has become like a drug for the masses, without a constant plug into what, when, and where the next thing is happening our society quickly becomes bored, and loses interest. No one watches the news anymore, it’s a quick blur on their cell phone screen, before they are back to posting pictures on Instagram and checking recipes on Pinterest. A perfect example of how integral these things have become in our society is neither of those words were considered to be spelling mistakes. My biggest question is, is if our culture is so dependent on technology, what is to come in the next decade?
This becomes a problem for some who completely lose their lives in games, such as World of Warcraft and Second Life, where their lives in the game become more important than their actually lives. Yes, they find connections within these world, and the people they meet are in fact their friends, but is any of it real? If you cannot tell the difference between fantasy and reality aren’t you just lost in cyberspace?
Along with these two paragraphs.
