Rhetorical Analysis: The purpose of this ad is to get people to buy Frosted Flakes. The target audience of this cereal are kids, and ultimately the parents of the kids who want to eat the cereal. Kids love sugared cereal and the tiger helps to draw them in as something cute that they can relate to.
Rhetorical Design: The designe element used here is flow. As the book describes the readers eyes flow over the page along a backward S-shaped path. The name of the cereal is in the top left so you know what the product is and then your eyes work down the advertisement in this backward S-shape into the tiger which keeps you attracted to the box and as the your eyes begin to the leave the page the tiger’s fist draws you back to the page into the tiger and back to the title as all the elements including the background blue which is just eye catching enough to make the reader notice it but not enough to deter you from the flow of the main design.
